Introduction To Tunnel Engineering
This course is designed to develop an understanding of the different phases of Tunneling Projects from feasibility to execution. Components of the tunnel with introductory level design are discussed with students.
Course Outcomes
The students should be able to:
Ø Develop an understanding of tunnels and underground structures.
Ø Become familiar with the rock support, waterproofing systems, concreting activities and their sequences.
Ø Understand the basic cross-sectional elements of a tunnel.
